Dear Wine Associates,

We are delighted to invite you to join us on Wednesday, June 28, 2000, as we present "DINNER WITH BOB LONG AND THE WINES OF LONG VINEYARDS...at POSTO." Here's your chance to go one-on-one with the personable Mr. Long. Since this is a small dinner rather than a seminar setting, we will only serve Long Vineyards wines and everyone should be able to chat with Bob personally.

LONG VINEYARDS, established almost 25 years ago by Bob Long and Zelma Long, is a gorgeous property situated on the eastern side of St. Helena atop Pritchard Hill overlooking Lake Hennessey. Bob, Zelma and Winemaker Sandi Belcher have produced some of California's greatest wines, from their superb estate-grown Chardonnays, Johannisberg Rieslings and Cabernets Sauvignons to their creative Italian varietals.

The Long Vineyards Chardonnays are known for their elegance, finesse and long ageability. Even 20-year-old bottles have shown well in vertical tastings of these Chardonnays. Since 1994, the Long Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignons have been produced from grapes grown on their hillside estate and have become the "talk of the town," being rated highly by wine publications and web sites. The 1999 vintage for Cabernet Sauvignon is already considered one of the greatest in history, so we are thrilled to have the opportunity to taste a barrel sample of the Long Vineyards 1999 Cabernet and pre-order it before the short supply runs out.

Bob, Zelma and Sandi were among the first winemakers in Napa Valley to produce California-grown Italian varietals of Pinot Grigio and Sangiovese. These Long Vineyards wines are so popular that they are allocated each year. What a treat it will be to serve them with our Italian menu. As for the Botrytis Johannisberg Riesling, produced only in years when the "noble rot" affects the grapes, it is sweet and scrumptious and always in demand.

Our delectable dinner menu has been designed by Posto's Proprietor Piero Selvaggio and Executive Chef Steve Samson to complement the wonderful Long Vineyards wines. This is certain to be an evening of delightful food, delightful wines and delightful company.

The cost for this "Dinner with the Wines of Long Vineyards" is $80.00 each for the member and the first guest, all inclusive; additional guest and non-member reservations are $90.00 each. Full payment must accompany your reservation. No tickets are issued; you will be notified if your reservation cannot be accepted. Cancellation deadline for full refund is March 17.
