SEMINAR
Dear Wine Associates:

We cordially invite you to join us on Wednesday, June 27, 2001, for a special "blind" wine tasting seminar featuring many top California Cabernet Sauvignons from the 1998 vintage. We have tasted a number of 1998 Cabernets and, in spite of what you may have heard, found many of them to be quite outstanding.

In The Wine Advocate, noted wine authority Robert Parker suggests that due to the cool, wet weather in 1998, this vintage is "the most irregular in quality since 1989. However, this is not to suggest that there are not some superstar wines produced in 1998. Anyone who says that it is a 'bad vintage' is simply wrong about Cabernet Sauvignon. There are some stunning Cabernet Sauvignons..."

Our "Interactive Mystery Cabernet Sauvignon Seminar" will give you the opportunity to let your palate be your guide and judge for yourself the great taste and quality of many wines from some top California wineries. A minimum of 12 wines will be poured. Selections will be from wineries such as Chateau Montelena, Duckhorn Vineyards, Robert Mondavi, Shafer and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. We are planning a few special twists and we are sure you will be intrigued.

We will taste the wines in "flights" of three. We want to make this event "interactive" with YOU as the guest discussing the wines and what your feelings are regarding them. You will have a "scorecard" on which to write tasting notes and score the wines. We will discuss each of the wines before it is revealed. An offering of the wines at very special prices will be made available after the event.

The cost for this seminar is $35.00 each for the member and the first guest. Additional guest and non-member reservations are $39.00 each. This event will be held in the Pearl's Room located on the Warner Center Marriott's main floor right off the lobby. Due to limited space, we ask that you reply promptly and limit your reservation to no more than four (4) people. Full payment must accompany your reservation. No tickets are issued; you will be notifed if your reservation cannot be accepted. Cancellation deadline for full refund is June 25. While bread and cheese wil be served, we recommend that you have dinner prior to the event. The Marriott's Parkside Cafe serves excellent Early Bird Dinners.
