A new vintage of America's wine is about to burst onto the scene. August 1 is release day for Silver Oak 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley! The Duke is here to make sure you have the chance to reserve some for yourself.

Silver Oak's style is to make a wine that is delicious and approachable the day it is released while retaining the ability to age gracefully. As usual, they have hit the mark!

The dominant themes for the 2005 harvest were a rare combination of high quality and quantity and very homogeneous maturity. The wine is just as luscious as you have come to expect from Silver Oak. It is refined and complex and combines subtlety with depth of flavor. The wine has dark garnet color and a nose of black cherry, clove, cinnamon, lavender and licorice. It is seamless on the palate with a solid core of berry fruit, velvety tannins and excellent length.
