Cheers! from the Duke of Bourbon

We certainly have had some wonderful Pinot Noirs to offer lately. The three featured here are all very exciting...high scores, high visibility, extra-high quality...and a 94-point wine for as low as $26.99.
Melville Winery is located in the highly desirable Sta. Rita Hills appellation of Santa Barbara County. The wines are produced by famed wine maker Greg Brewer.

Melville 2007 Pinot Noir, Estate, is another great wine we all love at the Duke. With a score of 94 points from Robert Parker, obviously he agreed with us, as he said, "Even better is the explosive 2007 Pinot Noir Estate, which possesses abundant amounts of boysenberry, black raspberry, forest floor, roasted herb, and subtle smoke characteristics. Rich, textured, pure, and profound, this deep Pinot has the acidity and tannin necessary to age easily for 5-8 years." List price - $33.00.
Duke's sale price is $29.99 per bottle...6 or more $26.99 per bottle.

The Roar Winery, located in the Santa Lucia Highlands, is close to Lucia & Pisoni Vineyards. In fact, Roar owner Gary Franscioni is partnered with Gary Pisoni in Garys' Vineyard. These two very-limited-production wines are always among the finest produced in California's Central Coast.

Roar 2007 Pinot Noir, Rosella's Vineyard, is highly sought after and is sold out at the winery. Robert Parker scored it 93 and said, "The deep plum/purple-colored 2007 Pinot Noir, Rosella's Vineyard exhibits a sweet, smoky nose of black raspberries, spring flowers, herbs, and meat juices as well as a hint of underbrush. This dense Pinot's Burgundian-styled aromatic profile is followed by a wine with California ripeness, richness, and texture in addition to a full-bodied, long, silky mouthfeel. Enjoy it over the next 7-8 years. "
Duke's price is $55.00 per bottle.

Roar 2007 Pinot Noir, Pisoni Vineyard, is another highly sought wine also sold out at the winery. Robert Parker rated it 94+ and said, "it is one of the finest single vineyard Pinot Noirs I have tasted from California this year "
Duke's price is $55.00 per bottle.
