Chateau Montelena 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate, is the flagship wine of Montelena, whose wines have always been top-notch. In fact, Chateau Montelena is one of the premier wine estates in California. This vintage of their Cabernet Sauvignon received a score of 91 points from Robert Parker and we think it is in the league of Napa Valley's finest Cabernet Sauvignons. Parker's tasting notes: Dark and powerful in the glass with great density and saturation, this wine grabs your attention from the first glance. Luscious and rich on the nose with great depth, we find top notes of violets, cassis, and rich dark cherry, all riding over a base of warm leather, cocoa, wet stone and molasses. The palate opens with red raspberry and blackcurrants before building to mouth-filling ripe cherry, a beautiful acid balance, and round rich velvety tannins. The incredible intensity of the palate fades slowly leaving a finish of dried fruits and hints of clove with remarkable weight and tremendous persistence.

Far Niente 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate, is soft in texture, rich in flavor, complex and long. The wine displays the typical cassis and blackberry notes along with spicy oak aromas. This classic wine is always a Duke favorite worthy of our strong endorsement. We love it and we know you will, too. Winery tasting notes: Bright with ripe, purple fruits, this wine will impress with complex, layered aromas of black licorice and briar patch. The silky entry progresses along the palate and gives way to dense, velvety chocolate and toast. Full-bodied and concentrated throughout, the wine lingers on with a long, layered finish.

Krupp Brothers Estate 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, Stagecoach Vineyard, Napa Valley - The Duke has been enamored with Krupp Brothers wines for several years and this is another beauty. It is an absolutely fantastic, awesome, major-great wine! Winery tasting notes: Aromas of spectacular shaved chocolate, black cherry with incredible density and purity. A palate of boldly saturated fruit with a powerful wave of plushness layered with a rich and complex structure of black cherry, currant and loamy blackberry, finishing with some firm tannins.
