Please join us on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, for "THE BIG EVENT" - our last seminar of 2006! If you have been waiting for the "Super Seminar," please be advised that we are delaying it for a few months. "THE BIG EVENT" promises to be super anyway with three BIG and IMPORTANT WINE PERSONALITIES - JUSTIN BALDWIN, JIM CLENDENEN and TOM SHELTON. All of these dynamic fellows are long-time friends of the DUKE and have attended many of our events in the past. It is a true pleasure to have them join us for this "BIG" event. We are planning a fabulous line-up of their wines for the evening! Each and every one is absolutely outstanding and delicious. And each and every one of our guests is perfectly suited to lead us through this terrific seminar.

Justin Baldwin, along with his wife Deborah, started their famed Justin Vineyards in 1984 in the Paso Robles area of California's Central Coast. From the beginning, Justin has focused on producing world-class Bordeaux-style blends. It is evident that they have reached this goal, as they were awarded the very prestigious Pichon-Lalande Trophy for "The World's Best Blended Red Wine" - Isosceles. Happily, we will present a preview showing of the 2004 vintage of Isosceles and the debut of the new Cabernet-Syrah blend, SAVANT.

Jim Clendenen, Owner/Winemaker extraordinare of Au Bon Climat Winery in Santa Maria, is known for producing a great variety of world-class wines with an emphasis on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Having founded his winery in 1982, he is considered a true pioneer of California's Central Coast wine community. We are pleased to be presenting many of his vineyard-designated and proprietary-named wines under the Au Bon Climat, Clendenen Family Vineyards and Barham Mendelsohn labels.

Tom Shelton, President and CEO of Joseph Phelps Vineyards in the St. Helena area of California's Napa Valley, is one of the most respected gentlemen in today's wine world. The Phelps wines are highly acclaimed and in great demand. Last year, the Wine Spectator chose the Joseph Phelps Vineyards 2002 Insignia as the #1 wine in the top 100 wines of the world for 2005! Yes, as a BIG treat, we will be presenting the 2002 Insignia as well as the outstanding 2003 Insignia and the highly rated and rare 2003 Backus Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wow! What a line-up of special wines! The cost for "THE BIG EVENT" is $60.00 per person for members. We encourage you to respond promptly, as we expect a complete sell-out for this special evening. Reservations will be limited to Wine Association members until October 23 (remember, a membership consists of two (2) persons). After that date, we will happily take reservations for guests, providing space is available. Guest reservations will be $65.00 per person. Full payment must accompany your reservation. No tickets are issued; you will be notified if your reservation cannot be accepted. Cancellation deadline for full refund is November 7.
